Case Study - Integrated Service Package
An intruder alarm is received at our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) The duty staff dispatches the nearest patrol officer(s) to the scene to investigate. A further officer (often a supervisor or senior officer) is tasked to collect keys from our secure keyholding facility. The ARC will direct the attending officer to the area that has activated and in some cases the exact zone (e.g. a specific fire door).
The client’s premise may be equipped with remote video receiving
equipment (fastscan) and the RVRC operator will check the premise via the
CCTV installation for any signs of intrusion and any relevant information
will be relayed to the attending officers. Meanwhile, the ARC staff will
have been attempting to verify the alarm. This may be via the activation
of two or more sequential zones or via an audio verification system whereby
the ARC staff dials into several strategically placed microphones located
throughout the client’s premises in order to listen in and verify
the cause of the activation. Where the ARC staff are able to identify that
there is a high probability that an intrusion or attempted intrusion may
have taken place then the local police force will be informed and the premises
identified via their unique reference number (URN).
The first attending officer(s) will check the premises externally and report
initial findings, the officer with keys will then attend and the premises
will be entered and checked internally in an attempt to verify the cause
of the activation. The integration doesn't stop when the mobile patrol
officers attend the scene, support and coordination continues via our
fully computerised ARC who are able to remotely access the intruder alarm
system to interrogate the log, provide a zone walk test and offer remote
programming facilities.
There is no requirement for a SCAMP Patrol officer to remain on site for
an engineer to reset the system as our officers can reset all SCAMP systems
at the scene. And if an engineer should be required, our 24 hour on call
engineering staff are also part of the same integrated team and will
be tasked to the premises by the ARC staff.
It is this total integration between ARC/RVRC, manned guarding and engineering staff that is our greatest strength, it is undoubtedly true that in this case, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”
