Case Study - Remote Access Control
Traditionally, there are have been some instances where there is just no alternative to expensive on site security. Now, with an integrated solutions package from S.C.A.M.P Security we can offer the same services at a fraction of the cost.
In the past, where a site was receiving one or more deliveries out of hours there was no alternative to a static security officer to verify the driver's identity and open up to allow them to make their delivery. With the installation of a S.C.A.M.P Security intruder alarm system and fastscan CCTV system the same can be achieved.
Firstly, you can be sure that in the absence of a static security officer, your premises are still protected. Any movement in the compound will cause the CCTV detection to activate and signal an alert to our operator within the Remote Video Receiving Centre (RVRC), the operator will then assess the stored and live images to attempt to ascertain the cause of the alert. Secondly, your intruder alarm system is protecting your property against any sign of intrusion and will signal any alarm condition to our 24 hour Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) at all times.
When a driver arrives at your gates, he will contact our ARC via the gate intercom and his identity will be verified by a previously arranged PIN code or password. If the driver is unable to give this identification, he will not be allowed access. The ARC operator will then dial into the S.C.A.M.P Security intruder alarm system and disarm the area(s) that the driver needs access to - if the driver only needs access to a single loading bay then only that single loading bay will be disarmed and the rest of your premises will remain protected. The RVRC operator will then dial into the fastscan CCTV system and operate an auxiliary output to open your electric gates, he will monitor the passage of the driver into the compound via the gates and close them behind him. The RVRC operator will then operate a further output to release the door(s) into the area(s) that the driver requires access.
When the driver is ready to leave, the intruder alarm system will be re-armed and the doors re-secured. If all is clear (i.e. the driver has not left the door open) then the gates will be opened and the driver will be allowed to leave and the gates secured behind him. At no time is the driver given access to any door codes, alarm codes or keys as all security is totally handled remotely.
